When the card is all folded up, it fits perfectly in a standard envelope!
Botanical Tea Folding Card Tutorial
Trim your chosen Cor’dinations cardstock to 11 ½” x 8 ½”. With the long edge at the top of your score board score at 2 ¾”, 5 ½” 8 ¼” and 11”. Turn 90 degrees to the left and score at 4”. Fold all score lines.
Cut along each of the 4” score lines to the centre fold. Trim off the 4” x ½” tab.
If you want to add texture to the lower section of your card, chose a mask, place it under your card stock and sand lightly over the top with a sanding block. Place double-sided tape on the ½” tab.
To cover the lower flaps of your card cut three 3 7/8” x 2 5/8” mats from cream patterns and solids paper. Ink the edges. Punch ribbon slots along the bottom edge of each. Cut three 3” lengths of the fine pink border from 8 x 8 Couture paper and thread through the slots. Fold edges under cream mats and stick. Put double-sided tape around the edges of each mat and stick down to three of thefour lower flaps on your card. cut a piece of 12 x 12 Herbal Infusion paper 8 3/8” x 2 5/8”. Fold the fourth of the lower flaps upwards and stick this larger mat in place. This is the back of your card.
From left over cardstock cut three strips ¾” wide x 3 ¼”. Score each one ¼” in from each end. Crease the score lines and stick these strips inside your card about 1/8” from top edge.
Cut out your chosen flowers, leaves, birds, tea pot and tea cup from the papers. Punch out three cardstock circles.
Chose a cut part for the back of your card, trim to fit and stick into place on the back section of your card. Cut out a sentiment and mount. I used a 1 ½” round punch and slightly larger scalloped die for mine. To give the sentiment some height cut a ½” x 4” strip of cardstock as a mount. Assemble the sentiment as shown and add flower spray to the stem.
Attach the tea pot to the back section of your card and then working from back to front and using the cardstock circles as mounts, and sticking them to the slats in your card build up your arrangement with the pieces you’ve cut out.
Continue to build up the layers of your card until you’re happy with how it looks. Add some detail to the two side flaps of your card to finish.
